Can a power station run a refrigerator?
Yes. Almost any power station with 1,000 Wh or more and a 1,200 W surge rating will run a full-size refrigerator, and a 1 kWh unit keeps it cold for roughly 20 hours. The two numbers that trip people up are the startup surge and how fast the battery drains, so here is both.
The two numbers that matter
A refrigerator's compressor draws about 150 W while running but needs a brief 1,200 W jolt to start. The power station must handle that surge or it will shut off with an overload error. Every unit we cover with 1,800 W or more of output clears it comfortably; the 300 W class, like the Jackery Explorer 300, does not.
The compressor cycles on and off, so over a day a full-size fridge averages around 45 W, or about 1,080 Wh. That daily figure is what sizes the battery.

Runtime = capacity × 85% inverter efficiency ÷ 45 W. An old or chest-style unit, a warm kitchen, or frequent door-opening cuts these.
Make it last twice as long
During an outage you do not need the fridge running all day. Keep the door shut, and a full fridge holds safe temperatures for about 4 hours unplugged, a full freezer for 24 to 48 hours. Powering it for 20 minutes every hour, or 12 hours a day, keeps everything cold and roughly doubles every runtime above. A plug-in timer makes this automatic.

Common questions
Will a 300 W power station run a mini fridge?
Usually yes for a dorm-style mini fridge (about 50 to 80 W running, 300 to 500 W surge), but check the surge rating. Runtime on a 300 Wh unit is around 4 to 6 hours.
Does a power station damage a refrigerator?
